SLX 130 Overview:
The SLX 130 Submersible Level Transducer is typically used to monitor the level of sewage wet wells, chemical tanks, streams, clearwells, ground storage tanks and other liquid level-sensing applications. The SLX 130’s large 2.5″ diameter Teflon(R) faced diaphragm is an excellent choice for liquids with a high concentration of suspended solids.
The SLX 130 has a 3.8″ diameter (max.) PVC housing and a 2.5″ diaphragm. The housing is suited for use in chemically aggressive applications. The plastic housing also provides excellent electrical isolation from surges which are typically encountered due to lightning.
SLX 130 is available in either of two outputs: 1) The SLX 130-M provides an industry standard, loop-powered 4-20 mADC output 2) the SLX 130-E is a three wire transducer with 5 VDC excitation and a 0.5-4.5 VDC ratiometric output (nominal).
The SLX 130-M and SLX 130-MIS (milliAmp Intrinsically Safe) is a two-wire loop-powered device that provides a 4-20 mADC output over the sensor’s pressure range. The SLX 130-M is available in standard ranges of 5, 10, 15 and 30 PSI. The SLX 130-E is available in standard ranges of 5, 15 and 30 PSI. The SLX 130-E can be combined with Contegra’s T423 or T425 to provide a calibrated 4-20 mADC output over the customer’s specified range (e.g. 4-20 mADC over 0-18′ excursion).
The SLX 130-M has a 9.5 VDC lift-off voltage (nominal) and operates on a supply voltage of up to 28VDC.
The SLX 130 ’s sensor has a 0.25% typical accuracy. The SLX 130 is pendent mounted (i.e. suspended) via its Kevlar®-strengthened signal cable. Thus, the SLX 130 is appropriate for applications with low to moderate turbulence. [Applications with high turbulence may benefit from the SLX 130’s ability to be pipe mounted.]
Types of Signal Cable:
· The SLX 130-M is available with either a Ropellant™ jacketed cable made of TPE (Thermoplastic elastomer) or as Teflon(R) jacketed cable. The SLX 130-E is available with the Teflon(R) jacketed cable. The Ropellant™ jacketed cable is specially formulated with an integral rodent repellent.

Engineering Specification – SLX 130
A submersible level transmitter shall be provided to sense the liquid level of the _____________ at the location as shown on the plan drawings and in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations. The transducer housing shall be fabricated of PVC with a 2.5” diameter Teflon diaphragm. Silicone oil shall be used as a hydraulic fill. The sensor shall be mounted using its signal cable and have 3/4” NPT pipe threading for pipe mounting. The internal air pressure of the sensor assembly shall be relieved to atmospheric pressure through a sealed breather system. The sensor’s signal cable shall be Teflon® (T) / Ropellant™ (R) [ < Choose one] jacketed. The signal cable shall contain an integral breather tube which shall be connected to the factory supplied sealed breather system and in accordance with the manufacturer’s mounting instructions.
The transmitter shall be a 4-20 mADC, 2 wire, 10-30 VDC loop-powered type, with its output signal directly proportional to the measured level excursion. The transducer shall be UL 508 listed. The transducer shall be a CONTEGRA Model SLX 130-M.
Alternate: MIS version (4-20 mA output, Intrinsically Safe) [Substitute the following for the underlined text above.]
The sensor shall be Listed to UL 913 as intrinsically safe. The transducer shall be a CONTEGRA Model SLX 130-MIS.
